Star wide receiver DeVonta Smith could miss the Philadelphia Eagles game against the Los Angeles Rams this week.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a very tough loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, and now the team will be getting ready for a matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.

But this could prove to be harder than expected, with star wide receiver DeVonta Smith potentially being forced to miss the game. Smith is dealing with a hamstring injury again, and his status for the game against Los Angeles is up in the air.

The star dealt with a hamstring issue last week, but he was able to suit up against the Bears. However, this continued problem could see him possibly sit against the Rams.

Against the Bears, Smith caught six passes for 65 yards, with him failing to make much of an impact. The entire Eagles offense struggled against Chicago, leading to the blowout loss in primetime.

But Smith's status for this game with Los Angeles could change everything for Philadelphia, and he's been a key piece to the team so far. For the year, Smith has caught 19 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown.

Entering the year, there were real questions around whether Smith could be the top option in the pass game for the Eagles. But so far, he has silenced any doubters around his ability, but the team does need him on the field.

Smith allows the Eagles to stretch the field well, while giving quarterback Jalen Hurts a legitimate option to throw the ball too. If he can't give it a go in this game with the Rams, it could be a massive blow to the chances of Philadelphia to win.

If the injury were to keep Smith out of the game, others would need to massively step up to grab the win. Guys such as Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Makai Lemon would be called up in his absence.

But the running game would also be relied upon to get going, with star back Saquon Barkley getting off to a slow start this year. If Smith is forced to miss time, Barkley's presence will become even more crucial than ever before.

Philadelphia enters this game against Los Angeles holding a record of 2-1 on the season, while the Rams are 1-2. Both teams desperately need a win this week, creating what should be a fun game.

The Eagles and Rams have an early kickoff this week, with the game scheduled for 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field.
