With Jalen Hurts sidelined and the season spiraling, Philadelphia may offload Marquise Brown to recoup draft capital before a pivotal stretch determines their trade deadline fate.

Things are spiraling for the Philadelphia Eagles this week as quarterback Jalen Hurts has been lost for the season due to complications from a superficial blood clot that started in his calf.

Amid numerous injuries (and the retirement of right tackle Lane Johnson), the Eagles enter Week 7 on a four-game losing streak.

With the trade deadline of Nov. 10 approaching, league teams are smelling blood in the water.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the NFL teams in the market for a wide receiver believe the Eagles could soon trade wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown before the deadline. He had a good season with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025, recording 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns.

Brown has been more of an afterthought in Philadelphia. The 2019 first-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens has missed three games due to an ankle injury and has no receptions this season. The Eagles signed Brown to a one-year deal worth $6.5 million in March.

Of course, how the Eagles intend to deal at the deadline will come down to how they play the next few games. The NFC East has been a punching bag this season, and the New York Giants lead the division with a 3-2-1 record. Philadelphia could make a move of its own for a quarterback and contend for the NFC East.

Philadelphia will play the 2-4 Dallas Cowboys, Giants, and 1-4-1 Washington Commanders before the trade deadline. Those are all winnable games for the Eagles. If the Eagles find ways to win a couple of games there, they could be in the market to add help before Nov. 10.

Still, Brown could be dealt either way. Philadelphia can make it work with DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, and Makai Lemon. Brown has been a non-factor so far, and it might be worth it for the Eagles to add more draft capital to their arsenal.

Brown's best season came in 2021, when he caught 01 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns. That was the only year in the league he had a 1,000+ yard receiving season.  Outside of 2024 when he played in just two games amid injury, Brown has not had fewer than 574 yards in a season.

A playoff contender should be interested in Brown, and no doubt, that's why they signaled to Schultz that he could be available. Brown might push to leave Philadelphia, and that could be good for both parties.
