This heavy hitting safety could be the perfect pairing next to Andrew Mukuba in this Vic Fangio defense.

The Philadelphia Eagles are going to need to have a successful offseason in order to atone for their embarrassing round one playoff exit last season.

Regardless of what happens with AJ Brown or Dallas Goedert this offseason, the Eagles offense should be fine next year. Reports are that people in the building believe Devanta Smith has the capability to be a WR1 and also that the Eagles are interested in TE David Njoku. The offense will replace and rebuild.

If the Eagles really want to have another shot at a Lombardi next season, the changes are going to have to come on the defensive end.

Philadelphia has been tied to elite pass rusher Maxx Crosby in the past few days, but you need more than just home runs in free agency. To build out a competent roster, you need singles and doubles, and this safety option may just be a triple.

Eagles Reportedly Interested in Safety Jaquan Brisker

The Philadelphia Eagles could lose a fair number of contributors on the defensive side of the ball. Some of the Eagles include players like Reed Blankenship, Jaelan Phillips, Nakobe Dean, and others on the defensive side of the ball.

If they do lose out on Reed Blankenship, a solid replacement who could come in and instantly make a difference would be former Chicago Bears safety Jaquon Brisker.

Brisker will be entering his 5th season in the league and is coming off an outstanding campaign as a member of arguably one of the best secondaries in the NFL last season with Chicago.

Brisker is more aggressive than Blankenship, as he totalled more tackles and sacks last season than the Eagles' safety. He won't be a ball hawk very often over the top, but he will come down into the box and set the tone physically.

Brisker may just be slightly more versatile than Blankenship as well, due to his aggressiveness and ability to play both over the top and in the box.

With both players likely warranting a contract in the ballpark of 3 years, $10-$15 million per year, if you can't retain Blankenship, Brisker may just be a slight upgrade in Vic Fangio's defense.

Briskers' physicality, paired with Andrew Mukuba's coverage skills on the back end of that defense, could be scary.
