The Philadelphia Eagles have had an interesting offseason to this point. From them firing offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, to AJ Brown trade rumors really heating up, to losing multiple starters on day one of free agency, Philly has been through the wringer already.
While they now have quite a few holes to fill on defense, it sounds like, for the most part, the offense will be the same. The few changes they'll have to navigate are being without Jahon Dotson and having Sean Mannion as the new offensive coordinator.
There have been and will continue to be so many changes with the loss of starters and the addition of new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, but one change the Philly faithful were waiting to see was whether they'd have franchise TE Dallas Goedert back in Philadelphia.
Thanks to some news today, we now know that Jalen Hurts and the offense will have another one of their favorite weapons back in Philadelphia.

Mandatory Credit: Bill Streicher-Imagn ImagesThe Eagles have officially re-signed TE Dallas Goedert to a one-year deal to return to Philly. This is similar to what they did with Goedert last summer, signing him to a one-year deal for $10M.
It's interesting that this deal got done, because all of the reporting out of the NFL Combine recently was that Goedert was absolutely not returning to Philadelphia. The Eagles losing out on so many of their own in-house free agents already could have led to this signing.
Philadelphia doing this deal now is huge for multiple reasons.
One, it gives Jalen Hurts back one of his favorite weapons. Last season, Goedert led the Eagles in receiving TDs with a whopping 11. The most on the team and the most of his career by a landslide. Having Goedert back as a safety blanket will be key for Hurts in a new offense.
The other massive benefit of this signing is what it does for Philadelphia's cap. By not allowing Goedert to leave, the Eagles save themselves from taking on more than $20M in dead cap space. This now makes taking on any dead cap from an AJ Brown trade much more manageable.
Could Goedert being back open the door for Philly to send off one of their other top targets? We'll have to wait and see. For now, however, Philly has their TE back.
