With their leading TD receiver from last year likely leaving and AJ Brown on the trading block, what will Philadelphia's receiving core look like next season?

Even though the Philadelphia Eagles are the reigning NFC East Champions, their season did not end the way they wanted it to. Most teams would be pleased with that result, but not this Eagles team.

Philadelphia is entering a very interesting offseason, filled with tough choices to make.

The largest decision is what they'll eventually end up doing with AJ Brown. Earlier today, it was also reported by Albert Breer that the Eagles are keeping tabs on Maxx Crosby, whose elite talent would instantly improve their pressure off the edge.

Entering the 2026-27 season, this Eagles team could look much different from the one we saw last season. Thanks to rumblings around the combine this past weekend, NFL insider Matthew Berry revealed that Philadelphia is almost assuredly set to endure one change at a minimum.

Matthew Berry Says Dallas Goedert is "Definitely" Moving On

Last season, amid the chaos surrounding WR AJ Brown, Dallas Goedert often served as a security blanket not just for Jalen Hurts but for the passing game as a whole.

Goedert led the team in receiving TDs and was 3rd in both receiving yards and catches. His 11 receiving touchdowns were by far the most of his career, as were most of his other statistics.

After signing a 1-year $10 million extension for last year, Goedert will be able to now take his career year as leverage into free agency, and at the end of the day, he may just warrant a price that the Eagles are not willing to pay.

Luckily for Philadelphia, there are definitely options out there, both in free agency and in the draft.

In free agency, you have names like David Njoku, Tyler Higbee, and even Isaiah Likely hitting the market. All legitimate talents at the position. The draft might be even more loaded.

By no means is it last year's draft with players like Tyler Warren, Colston Loveland, or Harrold Fannin Jr, but it's still ripe with talent. Guys like Oregon's Kenyon Sadiq or Vanderbilt's Eli Stowers look primed to be both first-round picks and should be able to contribute early in their NFL careers.

Goedert was fantastic for the Eagles last season, and it certainly won't be fun to lose a weapon like that, but the future at the position for Philadelphia is far from bleak.
