The Atlanta Falcons blew out their rival in their own building.
The Atlanta Falcons secured their second straight victory and biggest to this point in the season on Monday Night with an absolute drubbing on the road against the New Orleans Saints.
It was the third straight victory over the Saints following last year's sweep and the second straight primetime win to get back to .500 after an absolutely disastrous start over the first two weeks of the year. Above all, it was a massive statement to the rest of the NFC South, and the entire league, that this team has a winning formula which will help them beat a whole lot of opponents.
Atlanta runs the ball at an elite level, and on the defensive side, they stop the run. Outrushing New Orleans 205 yards to 50 on the ground, this is exactly how you win games in the National Football League. The combination of Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson Jr. on the ground, keeping the superstar fresh with a reliable second in command, is absolute dynamite with 33 carries between the two to go along with just 20 passes for Michael Penix Jr. on Monday night.
Falcons Ground Attack is Phenomenal Right Now
Once again in a primetime game, Atlanta's face of the franchise was the best player on the field with Bijan Robinson rushing for 145 yards on 19 touches and two touchdowns, even setting the tone on the first drive of the game with a long touchdown to quiet a very loud crowd in the dome.
Averaging 7.6 yards per carry, Robinson is on another level right now while his running mate and fellow Robinson had a huge night as well.
Brian Robinson Jr. found the end zone three times in his 14 touches on 62 yards as the offense hardly missed a beat when he was in the game.
Through the air, Drake London was effective once again with five receptions for 96 yards and while Penix did not put up any gaudy numbers, he did exactly what he needed to do in order to help his team win the game.
The rushing attack is always going to lead the way when this team is operating how it wants to with Penix complimenting things through the air as well as not turning the ball over as was the case on Monday night.
Up next for the Falcons is the third of the three straight primetime games, finally back at home for a Sunday Night showdown against the Baltimore Ravens in the first of three home games.
