The Baltimore Ravens eye Jaguars' assistant Tyler Tettleton for a coaching vacancy. His diverse offensive coaching background makes him a compelling candidate.

The Jacksonville Jaguars could still lose a member of their coaching staff, as the Baltimore Ravens have asked to interview Jags receivers coach Tyler Tettleton, NFL Network's Ian Rapaport reported Sunday.

The Ravens, with new coach Jesse Minter on board, are amidst filling out their assistant coaching ranks following the ouster of John Harbaugh in early January.

Before the team hired Minter, previously the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers, Jaguars DC Anthony Campanile was among an estimated 16 candidates the Ravens met with in their search to replace Harbaugh, who had led the team for 18 years. Campanile was also a head-coach candidate for the Miami Dolphins and a finalist for the opening with the Arizona Cardinals.

Offensive coordinator Grant Udinski reached the finalist list for the coach opening with the Cleveland Browns, then removed himself from consideration. Udinski also interviewed for the Buffalo Bills' coach vacancy, following the team's surprise ouster of Sean McDermott on Jan. 19.

The Jaguars on Jan. 27 signed Campanile and Udinski to new contracts that increase their salaries and keep them in Jacksonville through 2026.

Tettleton is in his fourth year in Jacksonville, a holdover from former coach Doug Pederson's staff. The former quarterback out of Ohio University (2009-2013) has served in numerous coaching roles on both college and NFL teams. The Jaguars hired the Norman, Oklahoma, native in 2022 as assistant running backs coach, working with Travis Etienne Jr., who had a breakout sophomore season after returning from an injury that kept him sidelined as a rookie.

In 2023, Tettleton was promoted to assistant receivers coach/pass game specialist, working with individual players including Calvin Ridley Jr., Christian Kirk, and Brian Thomas Jr., develop their skills and helping each to become key contributors to the Jaguars' offense. Late in 2024, the Jags added running backs coach to Tettleton's list of duties.

Previously, Tettleton made assistant coaching stops at Ohio U., LSU, and Oklahoma, where he helped lead the Sooners to three straight Big 12 titles and worked with Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Tettleton also served as an assistant with the Browns and New York Jets.

If Tettleton meets with the Ravens, he will join a group of hopefuls that includes internal candidate Prentice Gill, Baltimore's current receivers coach, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The Jaguars have seen some turnover with their coaching staff this offseason. The team on Jan. 25 hired Brian Picucci away from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to serve as run game coordinator.

Jacksonville also hired Mathieu Araujo away from Miami, where he worked for four years as the Dolphins' assistant defensive backs coach, then as the cornerbacks coach. Araujo has been named the Jags' defensive pass-game coordinator.

Both Araujo and Tettleton are widely viewed as up-and-comers in the ranks of NFL coaches and coordinators.

The Jaguars let go secondary coach Ron Milus on Jan. 26, a day before assistant offensive line coach and run-game specialist Keli'i Kekuewa departed for Stanford, where he'll oversee the offensive line for the Cardinal.
