The Jaguars' dominant seven-game winning streak propels them to the top-tier of the power rankings. Now, they eye a division title and AFC's No. 1 seed.

Few teams have been better than the Jacksonville Jaguars this season, especially over the past two months.

Right now, the Jags are more worried about clinching the AFC South than they are about NFL Power Rankings.

Still, Jacksonville is in the top three, and the top three isn't a bad place to be.

Indeed, Sunday's win over the Colts in Indianapolis wasn't as dominant as many of Jacksonville's previous wins, with the Jags having five double-digit triumphs during their seven-game winning streak.

In this one, Jacksonville won by six and didn't seal the deal until the game's final play.

Nonetheless, the Jags moved one step closer to a division title and tying the team's 2005 record and second-place finish in the AFC South under coach Jack Del Rio.

Before the season, Jacksonville was 23rd in NFL.com's Power Rankings, having just come off a 4-13 campaign.

Now, the Jags are on the verge of finishing 13-4, one win shy of their all-time record of 14-2 from 1999, under coach Tom Coughlin.

Here's what NFL.com's Eric Edholm wrote about the Jags this week.

"The Jaguars were pretty shaky early against the Colts, fortunate to only be trailing 10-7 at the half. Then the offense got going, the defense clamped down, and the better team won -- it was the Jags' seventh straight victory in a breakthrough season few saw coming. What they've done since their Week 8 bye has been nothing short of admirable, and they're as legitimate a contender as just about anyone in the AFC field right now. But there is one area they absolutely can improve in before the postseason: the red zone. Their 60% TD rate down there ranks them in the upper half of the league, and their 39 TDs are impressive, but Sunday brought two more RZ turnovers, raising their season total to six. Coughing it up twice in the money zone against Indianapolis is one thing; doing so in a playoff game would be another entirely."

To get to 13 regular-season wins, all Jacksonville needs to do is beat the 3-13 Tennessee Titans at home this weekend. As they still have to secure the AFC's No. 1 seed, the Jags will be playing their starters. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
