One prominent analyst has been a huge believer in Jacksonville all offseason and now has the Jaguars as his highest-ranked AFC team in his latest set of NFL power rankings.

Throughout the entire offseason, many national analysts have treated the Jacksonville Jaguars as an afterthought.

From overwhelming criticism of the team's offseason to predictions of a decline, it's obvious that Jacksonville's amazing 2025 season hasn't convinced the majority of the media that the club is one of the league's best.

Fan optimism for the Jaguars, on the other hand, is among the highest in the NFL. Over 92% of Jacksonville fans believe their team will have another successful season.

The lack of attention the Jaguars have received from the national media has been a bit surprising. The team had a nine-win improvement from 2024 to 2025, is loaded with talent, and has one of the most highly regarded coaching staffs in the league.

Even though Jacksonville has not reached the playoffs in consecutive seasons this century, this year's squad looks primed to break that streak.

One prominent analyst, however, has been a big believer in the Jaguars throughout the offseason.

That would be Pete Prisco of CBS Sports, who has been trumpeting Jacksonville's potential for months. In his newest set of NFL power rankings, Prisco has the Jaguars all the way up to third.

Prisco Loves The Jaguars This Year

This isn't the first time Prisco has shown his love for the Jaguars this year.

While most analysts have consistently doubted Jacksonville's running backs, Prisco talked about Bhayshul Tuten's potential to be a star.

While others question whether the Jaguars will even be a playoff team, Prisco picked them to win the Super Bowl.

Jacksonville has been as low as 17th in other power rankings, a laughable spot for any team coming off a season like the Jaguars had in 2025.

The only two teams Prisco has ranked above Jacksonville are the Seattle Seahawks, who are the defending Super Bowl champions, and the Los Angeles Rams. He believes the Jaguars are even better than they were a season ago and thinks quarterback Trevor Lawrence has a legitimate chance to win MVP this year.

"Too many people are sleeping on this team heading into the season. They won 13 games last year, and they are a better team. Trevor Lawrence just might be the MVP."

Lawrence was a finalist for MVP for the first time in his career last year, finishing fifth in the voting. His amazing play down the stretch was a clear indicator that he was getting more comfortable running Liam Coen's offense. If he can play at that level for a full season, Lawrence would be a solid pick to bring home the award.

Final Thoughts

This is by far the highest Jacksonville has been in any power rankings.

Prisco has the Jaguars as his top-ranked team in the AFC. It is clear he believes in the Jaguars more than probably anybody else from the national media.

Will Jacksonville prove Prisco right and get to the team's first-ever Super Bowl? The Jaguars have the potential to get there, despite any of the criticisms they have received over the past few months.

The path to the Super Bowl begins on Sunday for the Jaguars.
