Despite a dominant presence in Jacksonville, Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen landed as honorable mentions while an injury-sidelined Nick Bosa retained his elite status among NFL insiders.
Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen are a dangerous edge-rushing duo for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but NFL executives, coaches and scouts don't view them as top-10 edge rushers.
NFL Insider and Writer John Frascella posted the list of edge rushers NFL executives, coaches and scouts believe are top-10 in their position on Wednesday morning. Walker and Hines-Allen were the two Jaguars missing from the list.
Instead, their names appeared on the list of honorable mentions. One questionable name on the top-10 edge rushers list is San Francisco 49ers' Nick Bosa, who had an injury-plagued 2025 season.
Bosa ranked eighth, ahead of New York Giants' Brian Burns and Denver Broncos Nik Bonitto. He tore his ACL in his right knee on Sept. 21, 2025, which limited his appearances to three games on the season.
It's unfair to crown Bosa as a top-10 edge rusher coming off a serious injury, especially over Burns (16.5 sacks) and Bonitto (14 sacks). Looking back at 2024, when he missed three games, his production was similar to that of Hines-Allen and Walker.
Hines-Allen totaled eight sacks and 67 pressures, and Walker had 10.5 sacks and around 60 pressures. Bosa recorded nine sacks and 69 pressures, a neck-and-neck performance.
Walker's sack total decreased by seven, and pressures dropped to 42 last season as he dealt with injuries. Hines-Allen finished last year with the same number of sacks, and his pressure total increased to 95.
Improvement from Jacksonville's 2019 seventh overall pick is worth more than an honorable mention. He produced while Bosa was on the sidelines recovering from injury.
There is no doubt about Bosa's ability. He had 44.5 sacks across three seasons (2021-2023), which is more than Walker's career sacks and Hines-Allen's three-season total.
However, an injury should boot him off the list of top-10 edge rushers, and one of the Jaguars' edge-rushing duo could take his place at the bottom of the list.
Hines-Allen wants his partnership with Walker to dominate NFL headlines as a dominant edge-rushing duo. The two are the heart and soul of Jacksonville's pass rush, and they are the catalyst for success on the defensive side of the ball.
"Looking at him, he wants to be the best," Hines-Allen told reporters on June 10. "I want to be the best. Let's become the best duo."
Appearing in the honorable mentions should put a chip on Walker and Hines-Allen's shoulders to prove they're elite edge rushers worthy of gracing top-10 lists together.
