Four positions the Jacksonville Jaguars can address in free agency and the 2026 NFL draft.

With the offseason underway for the Jacksonville Jaguars, it’s time to start looking at each roster position to see where the team can improve as they look to make a deeper run in the playoffs after being one-and-done this postseason.

Where are some positions the Jaguars can look to improve for 2026? Here are four to consider.

Cornerback

The Jaguars have said they expect Travis Hunter to continue playing on both sides of the football. The 2025 No. 2 overall pick played 324 offensive snaps and 162 defensive snaps in his rookie season. As long as he’s healthy, Hunter will help secure one of the cornerback spots.

As far as the other spot goes? That is very much up in the air. The acquisition of Greg Newsome II didn’t pan out as well as the team would have liked, and he is set to become a free agent. Montaric Brown is also entering free agency.

The 202nd overall draft pick in 2023, Christian Braswell will be an exclusive-rights free agent, meaning the former practice-squad signee can be retained for one more year at the rookie minimum. Having logged limited minutes in six games this season, Braswell probably won't morph into a starter in the offseason, but the Jags are likely to keep him on the depth chart and special teams.

Linebacker

Among the top free agents for the Jaguars is Devin Lloyd. Given how well the 2025 All-Pro and newly named Pro-Bowler played this season and how much he is projected to get -- Spotrac is listing his market value at three years for about $20 million per year -- he may be too costly for the Jaguars to bring back. Therefore, the the Jaguars need to find a running mate for Foye Oludokun. Ventrell Miller, the Jags' 2023 fourth-round pick, already has been bumped up to Lloyd's starting spot on the depth chart.

Safety

Andrew Wingard is now a free agent. The Jaguars do have in-house options in Antonio Johnson and Eric Murray, and will also get back Hunter's 2025 draft mate, cornerback Caleb Ransaw, who spent the season on injured reserve after undergoing foot surgery during training camp last summer. Before his non-contact injury in June, the speedy Ransaw already had been transitioned to safety in what has become the Jags' rotating secondary. His health will play an important factor in how the Jaguars attack this position in the offseason. This could be an option when they are on the clock at No. 56 in the draft.

Defensive Tackle

The Jaguars could stand to find production in the middle of their defensive line. Arik Armstead recorded 5.5 sacks this season but didn’t post any in his last eight games, including the playoff loss against the Buffalo Bills. He and Josh Hines-Allen were the only Jaguars to record more than four sacks. Armstead and a few other defensive tackles look set to return in 2026, but the Jaguars would love to see someone on the interior help take pressure off of Hines-Allen and Travon Walker in terms of getting to the quarterback.
