As the Jacksonville Jaguars continue their push for the postseason, starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence continues to produce at an All-Pro level. The budding connection between he and head coach Liam Coen has transformed his career.

The difference between starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence prior to head coach Liam Coen's arrival and now has been the story of the Jacksonville Jaguars' ascension.

Since arriving in Duval last season, Coen has helped transform Lawrence into one of the most-consistent gunslingers in the NFL, while propelling the team atop the AFC South.

This season, Lawrence has carried over the momentum, ranking within the top-5 in MVP betting odds and leading the NFL in passing touchdowns (14).

On Thursday, Lawrence joined the Backyard Breaks Youtube channel, where he talked about the impact Coen has had.

Lawrence said that he has learned more from Coen and his staff over the past 18 months than at any point in his football career, adding that he has taken on more responsibilities in the current scheme.

Line protection and various defensive cues were some of the specifics that Lawrence mentioned, saying that Coen has added "another layer" to his ability to diagnose coverages.

Taking this next step was a focus articulated by Coen throughout the offseason, as he frequently praised Lawrence for last year's growth, but always said that there is more improvements to be made.

"The cool thing about [Lawrence] is you can coach him hard," Coen said after camp in early-August.

In Lawrence's early years, he dealt with heavy turnover in the coaching staff, failing to find a play caller who could tap into his full potential.

Interceptions and questionable throws have been a heavily-discussed negative in Lawrence's game in the past, but he cleaned it up last year and so far this season.

In Coen's first year, Lawrence posted his most efficient professional season, throwing 29 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions.

Through the opening six weeks, Lawrence is on pace to shatter his own franchise-record mark for touchdowns, while also making personal history in Week 1.

Against the Cleveland Browns, Lawrence threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns, spreading the wealth to his plethora of talented pass catchers.

Entering the game just two touchdowns shy of moving into No. 2 on the Jaguars' all-time passing touchdowns list, Lawrence connected with veteran wideout Jakobi Meyers for his historic accolade.

With 112 career passing touchdowns and counting, Lawrence passed former No. 3 overall draft pick Blake Bortles, who accumulated 103 scores in his four years at the helm of Jacksonville's offense.

If Lawrence continues his current pace, he will be in the running to pass Mark Brunell for sole possession as the Jaguars' passing touchdown king.

Brunell has 144 career passing touchdowns with the franchise, holding a 32-score lead over Lawrence.

Lawrence is on pace for over 40 passing touchdowns this season, putting the title in jeopardy towards Week 16 or 17 if he continues to sling it at this level.
