Following a breakout postseason, the Penn State product is dominating one-on-ones and cementing his role as Trevor Lawrence’s go-to playmaker while eyeing a lucrative new contract extension.
The Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiving corps has continued to show out in NFL training camp, with members of the room and coaching staff applauding the depth and talent at the position.
Parker Washington, a former sixth-round draft pick, burst onto the scene last season for a banged up Jacksonville receiving room.
After recording 58 receptions for 847 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 2025, he has carried this momentum into training camp, looking like one of the most dynamic players on the offense.
"The ascending Parker Washington continued to impress from an individual standpoint, as he was literally unguardable during 1-vs-1 drills and made a tough catch during redzone drills," Big Cat Country reporter Gus Logue wrote.
After almost every practice, something positive comes out about Washington, as he continues to look like one of starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence's top targets.
Entering the playoffs on a high note, Washington posted three consecutive games of 85 yards or more, while finding the end zone twice.
Washington looked dynamic in Jacksonville's playoff loss against the Buffalo Bills, catching seven passes for 107 yards and a touchdown, finishing the year as one of the hottest receivers in the NFL.
Entering this season, Washington projects as Jacksonville's secondary wideout next to Thomas, but has shown the ability to be a WR1 and Lawrence's go-to target.
Continued contract negotiations have been had about an extension for the former Penn State standout, but for now, he is in line to play out the final year of his rookie deal.
This offseason, both Brian Thomas Jr. and Washington have been a popular topic of discussion for members of the team and staff, as they have noticed growth and continuity between the two pass catchers and their quarterback.
"I texted Parker last week… and he was like, ‘I’m ready to kill,’" head coach Liam Coen told Action Sports Jacksonville on Tuesday. "That's all I need to hear from him."
Washington has also been hailed as one of the most hardworking players on the squad, with former Heisman winning two-way player Travis Hunter saying he has been trying to beat everyone to the facility, except for Washington.
Coen seconded these remarks, saying that his fourth-year wideout is almost always the player showing up earliest for extra work and preparation.
Washington, while projected to be Jacksonville's WR2 behind Thomas, gives Coen a lot more versatility than others in the room, having played the slot, X, and on the outside.
As we have seen with receivers in the past, waiting on an extension can end up costing teams more money the following year, which could happen with another big season from the fourth-year deep threat.
While a new contract is not eminent, locking down Washington now could save Jacksonville significant money down the line.
