New York Jets running back Breece Hall went down with a non-contact injury while running after a catch in practice on Monday.
Hall suffered a strained groin, which head coach Aaron Glenn isn't too concerned about. The 25-year-old running back inked a three-year, $43.5 million extension this offseason to be a key piece for New York's offense.
Hall is coming off a productive year in 2025, rushing for 1,065 yards and four touchdowns while hauling in 36 receptions for 350 yards and a touchdown.
If Hall misses any time earlier in the season, the Jets will turn to Braelon Allen as the lead back. Allen has shown flashes in his first two seasons, rushing for 410 yards on 110 carries with three touchdowns while catching 21 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown.
While Allen is a talented player, having him as the second running back behind Hall is the ideal situation for New York's offense.

In those seven games, Wilson played well, finishing with 36 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns.
New York also added more surrounding weapons next to Hall and Wilson this offseason, drafting wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. and tight end Kenyon Sadiq.
Cooper was a key piece for the Indiana Hoosiers' National Championship run in 2025, hauling in 69 receptions for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown on three carries.
Sadiq was a star in the Oregon Ducks offense, finishing with 51 receptions for 560 yards and eight touchdowns. The question mark heading into 2026 is the quarterback position, with plenty of young weapons on the roster.
While the Jets still have plenty of work ahead to become a playoff-caliber team, their offense has some talented young weapons to build around. Hall will lead the way for New York's offense as they look to improve upon the 3-14 record they had in the 2025 season.
