New York Jets running back Breece Hall said that the Tennessee Titans got tired during his team's Week 1 win.
The New York Jets were able to kick off the new 2026 NFL season with a win on the road against the Tennessee Titans.
New York looked like a team that had prepared all offseason, and they just took it to Tennessee early on. While there are areas to clean up, the win was impressive for the Jets, giving them a 1-0 start to the year.
Following the big win, Jets running back Breece Hall opened up on he game. In his comments, Hall admitted that he could tell that Tennessee got tired as the contest went on.
“We beat them up up front, and they (the Titans) got tired," Hall said.
Hall was a central point of the Jets' offensive attack against the Titans, with him rushing for 102 yards and one touchdown. The running back also caught two passes for 16 yards through the air.
New York wanted to establish the run early on in the game, and it helped open up the entire playbook. Hall came into the season expecting to have a good year, but his performance in Week 1 could see the Jets potentially become a surprise team.
The Jets wanted to create an identity early in the season, and so far, they have done exactly that. Hall's teammates were very complimentary after the game ended, looking back on the performance on the field
“It was cool — it was a point in the game where we were able to establish the run,” Braelon Allen said. “That’s what you gotta do to win in this league.”
The Titans, like the Jets, were expected to do much this season in terms of contention for the playoffs. But a win is a win, and the Jets are trying to break the longest playoff drought in North America.
The last time New York made the playoffs was in 2010, spelling a very long, almost two decades for this fanbase. But if Week 1 was any indicator, the 2026 season could at the very least be a more exciting and competitive season for the Jets.
Earning any win on the road in the NFL can be tough, but especially in Week 1. New York will be looking to build off this victory as they welcome the Green Bay Packers to town this coming week.
Kickoff between the Jets and Packers will take place at 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET this coming weekend.
