New York Jets' head coach Aaron Glenn was recently asked about the team's interest in quarterback Brendan Sorsby on Tuesday afternoon.

The future of the New York Jets’ quarterback position continues to be a massive storyline heading into the 2026 NFL season.

With the organization opting not to select a quarterback with one of their three first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, it’s clear that the Jets will be in the mix for a franchise player in next year’s draft class. But, following the news of quarterback Brendan Sorsby entering the 2026 NFL Supplemental Draft, the front office could potentially find its starting quarterback for the future this offseason.

When asked about the potential of adding Sorsby through the Supplemental Draft, head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters on Tuesday that he is “focused on the guys” that are currently on the Jets’ roster for the 2026 season.

"[I’m] focused on the guys that we have here now,” Glenn stated. “I'm sure that's something me and [general manager Darren Mougey] will talk about.”

After a horrific season of poor quarterback play in 2025, New York will look to now roll out former 2013 second-round pick Geno Smith to kick off the new season. Mougey acquired the veteran playmaker from the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason and would eventually pair Smith with 2026 fourth-round pick Cade Klubnik.

However, the Jets’ failure to add another quarterback this offseason could open the door for the struggling franchise to pursue Sorsby, as the QB2 role in 2026 remains unclear between Klubnik and 2025 UDFA signing Brady Cook. There were multiple rumors that the organization could target another veteran to round out the room this offseason, but with Sorsby back in the mix, there’s a good chance New York could take another shot at the position in the Supplemental Draft.

In addition to his comments regarding Sorsby leading up to the Supplemental Draft, Glenn also declined to comment on whether or not the quarterback’s gambling situation could impact the team’s decision to pursue him this offseason.

“I have no idea what [Sorsby’s gambling] is beyond what I’ve heard and seen on TV, but I don’t want to respond to that because I have no idea of the interworkings of that,” Glenn said.

According to college football insider Pete Thamel, Sorsby’s Pro Day is tentatively scheduled for Jul 10, giving the Jets less than a month to prepare for the event.
