The New York Jets could have a very successful 2027 NFL Draft class.

The New York Jets are currently sitting with a record of 1-3 on the season, with the team having lost three straight games.

After a Week 1 win, the Jets have fallen back down to earth. While New York has plans to turn the season around, that remains to be seen given where they are right now.

New York hasn't made the playoffs since the 2010 season, and it is looking like the long drought will continue. But the one silver lining to another playoff miss is that the Jets will get a top pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, in all likelihood.

The Jets are scheduled to have three first-round picks this coming year, offering them a chance to take over. New York may end up with a top-five pick, which would give them a chance to select a franchise quarterback.

Geno Smith currently mans the starting spot for the Jets, but he isn't the long-term answer for the team. So, if the Jets do get a top pick, they will select one of the quarterbacks from a loaded class.

In a new 2027 NFL Mock Draft from Ringer's Todd McShay, the Jets took Notre Dame quarterback C.J. Carr with the third overall pick. Carr was the second quarterback taken off the board after Texas's Arch Manning.

So far this season, Carr has been excellent for the Fighting Irish, throwing for 1,197 yards with 13 touchdowns and one interception. Carr has helped Notre Dame become a top team again, and they look like a legitimate title contender under his watch.

Last season, Carr threw for 2741 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. So, the signal-caller is on pace to have another strong season with the Fighting Irish as they look to make the College Football Playoff.

For the Jets, landing Carr could be perfect, giving them a legitimate quarterback for the future to build around. Even if he doesn't play right away, New York doesn't have anyone on the roster like this.

Carr could offer the Jets some stability at the position, and the team could then use the other draft picks to build the roster out. Overall, this may be one of the better options for the Jets, giving them a proven winner from the college level.

New York has a lot of work to do moving forward with the roster, but getting the quarterback settled could change everything for the franchise.
