The New York Jets land Arch Manning in a new 2027 NFL Mock Draft.
The New York Jets will enter the upcoming 2026 NFL season centered around hope for the future, rather than the team being expected to compete for the playoffs.
New York will have veteran Geno Smith playing quarterback for them this season after landing him in an offseason trade. Smith gives the Jets a chance to be a little more competitive this year, but overall, he isn't the long-term answer at the position.
The Jets have been searching for a franchise quarterback for a long time, to no avail. But one silver lining from the team potentially being bad again this season is that they would then get a top pick in the loaded 2027 NFL Draft.
The 2027 class is filled with multiple talented quarterbacks who could be franchise-altering for a team like the Jets. New York hasn't made the playoffs since the 2010 season, and there is no reason to think that will change in 2026.
So with that, the Jets are likely lottery-bound once again, barring a massive surprise. New York will try to win as many games as possible, but talent-wise, they are likely behind the eight ball.
Ahead of the new NFL season, Bleacher Report put together a mock draft for the 2027 class. Within this, they had the Jets landing one of the biggest names from the class, quarterback Arch Manning from the University of Texas.
"Manning possesses the physical ability and flashes of processing acumen that translate to the NFL. He's still learning to become a more efficient field general, but he wins with plus-athleticism as a scrambler. Of course, Manning has the pedigree and natural ability to be a franchise cornerstone," Bleacher Report's Scouting Department wrote.
While the Jets haven't historically been good for quarterbacks in recent years, this franchise could be good for Manning. Not only would he have a chance to revive an organization who has been down on its luck, but playing in New York City could be special.
Having the Manning name will draw all sorts of eyes to him, wherever he gets taken. But in New York, the endorsement and brand deals that Manning could receive would be over the top, especially if he were to win.
If Manning even got the Jets back to the playoffs, he would be seen as a hero in the city. The Jets also have a few quality offensive players, giving whoever is under center something to work with.
Overall, the Jets are one of the best teams for him to start his NFL career with.
