With the 2025 NFL regular season finally in the books, the New York Jets are starting to gain some recognition for one of the team’s young, rising stars on offense.
On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that Jets’ rookie offensive tackle and 2025 first-round pick Armand Membou was named to the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team after an outstanding first season with the organization.
While it was clear that the Jets’ offense lacked talented players in the starting lineup this past season, Membou was one of the few bright spots for head coach Aaron Glenn.
The former No. 7 pick in the most recent NFL Draft played in all 17 games for New York this season, being a dominant blocker in both the pass and run game at right tackle.
In his 619 pass blocking snaps, Membou allowed a total of eight sacks and 24 quarterback hurries, giving him a PFF pass blocking grade of 73.8.
In addition to his strong efforts in the passing game, the former Missouri standout also ended the season with a 72.1 PFF run blocking grade, proving that he can be a staple of the Jets’ offensive line for years to come.
Before being selected by general manager Darren Mougey in the draft, Membou was one of the best offensive tackles at the college level during his final season with the Missouri Tigers. In 2024, Membou did not give up a single sack for fellow Jets teammate, quarterback Brady Cook.
Despite his incredible stretch of games in his last year with the program, multiple NFL teams would pass up the opportunity of taking Membou in the 2025 draft. This included the New England Patriots, who ultimately selected LSU’s Will Campbell over the SEC tackle. With Membou falling all the way to the No. 7 pick, Mougey wasted no time in his efforts to rebuild the franchise’s trenches.
The selection of Membou in round one now gives head coach Aaron Glenn’s offense two cornerstone pieces at both the right and left tackle positions, as 2024 first-round pick Olu Fashanu showed signs of improvement in his second season with the organization.
