Panic Time in Gang Green? Yet Another Jets Collapse cover image

Undisciplined. Poor tackling. Zero execution. The New York Jets story.

It’s been a long windy road for the New York Jets and their fanbase, and after an 0-4 start, it’s hard to believe that it’s ending any time soon.

After the Jets fell to the Miami Dolphins 27-24 on Monday Night Football, Jets beat reporter for The Athletic, Zack Rosenblatt reported that shortly after the game, head coach Aaron Glenn was yelling so loud at his team that you can hear it from the press room.

And he has every right to be mad.

Formerly the defensive coordinator for one of the best teams in the NFL, Detroit Lions, coaching a team that has a hard time giving complete effort has to be a morale killer.

The Dolphins have been a total trainwreck all season. From the players not respecting the coach, to the quarterback constantly a threat to get a concussion, to the star wide receiver constantly being a distraction off the field, Miami looks destined for a top-five pick in the draft.

Even more so now that Tyreek Hill’s season is likely done.

So losing to a team at that point is nothing short of embarrassing, and the way the Jets did it was even worse.

Glenn said to the media after the game, “Very disappointing. There’s no way you can win any game with 13 penalties and three turnovers… We have to understand that before we can win games, we have to learn how to not lose games.”

They pretty much blew the game in the first quarter. As the Jets marched down the field with solid play, Braelon Allen was about to take it into the endzone until Miami’s Jack Jones swatted the ball away from his clutch at the one-yard line.

From there, it was all downhill. Minus a late comeback, the game was all but out of reach for Gang Green.

After the game, running back Breece Hall echoed Glenn’s comments in a more graphic tone.

“Teams shoot themselves in the foot, then we come back and shoot ourselves in the head.”

It’s a brutal description, but it sums up the Jets perfectly this season. The Steelers game in Week 1 was an outlier since there was extra motivation from both sides to perform at a high level.

But since then, they got mauled by the Bills, and then after making a heroic last minute comeback against the Bucs, they somehow fell in regulation.

It's a never ending cycle for the Jets, and their next game will be against the Dallas Cowboys on October 5th at 1:00 p.m. ET. Will they be able to put these first four games behind them?
