Armed with three first-rounders and a desperate need for a franchise quarterback, New York aims to reload its roster by targeting Oregon's Dante Moore and defensive anchors.
The 2026-27 NFL season is finally here, but for New York Jets fans, the beginning of the regular season is a day that many have dreaded.
Fortunately for the struggling fanbase, fans have the 2027 NFL Draft to look forward to throughout the course of the season. New York has plenty of ammunition in the upcoming draft, as the team holds five picks within the first three rounds. If general manager Darren Mougey can hit on his picks, the organization could quickly turn this franchise around in a matter of one offseason.
Without further ado, here's what the first round of the 2027 NFL Draft could look like for the Jets ahead of Week One.
Round One, Pick No. 3: Dante Moore (QB, Oregon)

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was viewed as a top-five pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, but ultimately decided to forgo last year's draft and return to Eugene for one final season with the Ducks. In his first regular-season matchup against the Boise State Broncos, Moore demonstrated his improved composure by throwing for 378 passing yards and three touchdowns in Week One.
If the highly-touted quarterback prospect continues his dominant efforts throughout the course of the college football season, Moore could solidify himself once again as a top-five pick.
Round One, Pick No. 12: Will Echoles (IDL, Ole Miss)

Rebilas-Imagn ImagesAfter dealing star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys during last year's trade deadline, the Jets are in desperate need of help on the interior of the defensive line.
Acquiring T'Vondre Sweat this offseason should significantly help the defense against opposing run games. However, adding Ole Miss defensive tackle Will Echoles would be an excellent pairing with Sweat and 2026 first-round pick David Bailey. Echoles has all the tools to be a true three-down threat at the NFL level, and Jets fans should keep an eye on the young defensive lineman during the 2026 college football season.
Round One, Pick No. 18: Ashton Hampton (CB, Clemson)

Similar to the defensive line, New York's secondary unit took a massive hit during last year's trade deadline when the organization traded star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts.
Luckily for the Jets, Clemson cornerback Ashton Hampton could be exactly what the defense needs heading into the 2027-28 NFL season. As a long, physical defensive back, Hampton's aggressive style of play is a perfect fit in head coach Aaron Glenn's defense. If Mougey and the front office decide to roll the dice on the talented defensive back in the upcoming draft, the Jets' defense could be fully reloaded for the foreseeable future.
