Jets Must Pursue Young WR During 2026 NFL Offseason cover image

The New York Jets must consider wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson this offseason during the free agency period.

After a disaster of a 2025 NFL season for the New York Jets, it’s obvious that general manager Darren Mougey and the rest of the franchise must be aggressive during the offseason.

With just two games left in the regular season, the struggling organization currently holds the No. 4 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. While there has been no indication of whether or not the team will try to make a move for a franchise quarterback this offseason, one thing is clear: the offense needs additional playmakers before the 2026 NFL season.

Luckily for Mougey and company, there are plenty of opportunities for the group to attack the wide receiver position this offseason. This could be done through the draft, or even better, through free agency.

When looking at the upcoming free agents, there are plenty of big names that are set to hit the free market this offseason. But there is one name that Jets fans should keep an eye on.

Wan’Dale Robinson, a former second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, had a breakout season with the Giants in 2025, following the season-ending injury to star wide receiver Malik Nabers.

In 15 games this year, the 25-year-old playmaker has recorded 81 receptions for 901 yards and four touchdowns. This includes two games of 125+ receiving yards, along with seven games of 50+ receiving yards.

One of the main reasons Robinson would be a perfect fit is that he is the slot receiver the Jets have desperately sought over the past couple of seasons.

This year, New York’s passing game has solely relied on the efforts of wideout Garrett Wilson. Outside of the prolific pass catcher, the Jets have strictly relied on the likes of John Metchie II and AD Mitchell.

With New York set to have roughly $90 million in cap space this offseason, it’s clear that the struggling franchise could easily pursue the young receiver in free agency. Robinson is projected to command around $15 million per year, which leaves the Jets with plenty of cap space left to make additional moves.

If Mougey and the rest of the front office decided to ink Robinson for the foreseeable future, the move would also give the Jets more flexibility in the 2026 NFL Draft to address other positions of need.
