The Falcons and star tight end Kyle Pitts agreed on a three-year deal that makes him the third-highest-paid tight end in the NFL.
The Atlanta Falcons have secured another offensive pillar as they agreed to terms with star tight end Kyle Pitts on a three-year, $54 million extension with $36 million guaranteed.
It’s a noteworthy deal, as the $18 million average annual value is good for third among tight ends in the NFL, ranking behind San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle’s $19.1 million and Arizona Cardinals' Trey McBride’s $19 million.
It voids the franchise tag initially used on Pitts for 2026, with a value of $15 million. Now, Pitts is secured in Atlanta through 2028.
It comes after a breakout 2025 campaign in which Pitts finished second among tight ends in receptions with 88 and in receiving yards with 928 yards and five touchdowns to cap it off.
He had a historic night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season in which he had 11 catches for 166 yards and three touchdowns.
Since 2021, he ranks fourth among all tight ends in receiving yards with 3,579.

The deal follows a major one awarded to wide receiver Drake London, who signed a four-year, $141 million deal with the franchise three weeks ago.
The next player up on the docket for the Falcons is All-Pro running back Bijan Robinson.
It’s a new strategy under new leadership of president Matt Ryan, head coach Kevin Stefanski, and GM Ian Cunningham, who clearly value the team’s skill players.
Not just that, but there’s a personal tie with Ryan, as he was Pitts’ first QB in the league in his rookie year in Atlanta.
