It’s been a whirlwind of a week for Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who was preparing to head to the Baltimore Ravens via a trade. Crosby had said his goodbyes to the Raiders and spoke of his excitement to join the Ravens – then they nixed the trade that would’ve sent their No. 14 first round pick in 2026 and a 2027 first rounder in exchange for Crosby. The reasons that they blew up the trade were said to be medical, with things popping up regarding a meniscus tear for Crosby during his physical. Crosby underwent surgery to repair his left meniscus in January and, per his agent, is ahead of his recovery timeline, but Baltimore saw too much risk and ended up signing Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million deal. Crosby spoke on the situation on X for the first time on Wednesday night, including declaring “I’m a Raider.”
According to ESPN, the Raiders have indeed received calls from teams putting out feelers on Crosby and his availability and are reportedly open to retooling that trade elsewhere. However, Crosby seems to be intent on sticking with the organization, despite being disgruntled from how they shut him down for the final two games of the season due to his injury.
Here is the full story from Raiders Roundtable writer Bob McCullough on Crosby’s first public comments.
Crosby returning certainly complicates things for Las Vegas, especially after they operated the first two days of free agency with the assumption that they had major cleared cap space from Crosby. However, they are still expected to sign all their free agents, and have added some free agent deals of their own.
