3 Keys For Giants' Week 13 Monday Night Battle Against Patriots cover image

Here are three keys for the New York Giants’ Week 13 battle against the New England Patriots on Monday night.

After an abysmal 2-10 start to the 2025 NFL season, the New York Giants will look to get back on track this week against the New England Patriots.

As the No. 1 team in the AFC, New England is currently riding a nine-game win streak, while averaging 26.5 points per game this season. This puts New York in a tough spot, which means the organization must be firing on all cylinders on Monday night.

Here are three keys for the Giants’ Week 13 battle against the Patriots.

Unleash Rookie QB Jaxson Dart

In order for the Giants to walk away with a victory on Monday night, the offensive efforts must run through rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.

The first-year playmaker missed New York’s last two games due to sustaining a concussion, but is now set to make his return in Week 13. Dart’s return could not have come at a better time, as he will likely play a massive role this week against the Patriots' defense that has struggled to defend the pass.

Interim head coach Mike Kafka has been creative as the offensive play caller over the last two games, which is a positive sign for a quarterback who has unfortunately dealt with multiple injuries this year from using his legs in the run game.

Force QB Drake Maye to Make Mistakes

Looking at New England’s offense, it’s clear that head coach Mike Vrabel’s starting 11 has been driven by stout quarterback play this year.

Second-year quarterback Drake Maye has put together an unbelievable 2025 campaign, recording 3,130 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions. As the main catalyst of the Patriots’ offense, Maye continues to prove why he is in the MVP conversation, as his duel-threat ability makes him a lethal threat for opposing defenses.

Luckily for the Giants’ defense, New England will be without their star offensive tackle in 2025 first-round pick Will Campbell after suffering a knee injury last week. This is a perfect opportunity for New York’s front four of Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and Dexter Lawrence to consistently get pressure on Maye.

Get WR Wan’Dale Robinson Involved Early on Offense

Once star wide receiver Malik Nabers went down with a season-ending injury this year, the Giants’ offense needed a pass catcher to take over a bulk of the work through the air. Luckily for Kafka, Wan’Dale Robinson has stepped up for the struggling offense in 2025.

In his last four games, the 24-year-old has become the focal point of the Giants’ passing attack, as he’s been targeted 45 times during the stretch of games. This has quickly become a common theme for Robinson, who currently leads the team in receiving yards this season with 794 yards on 66 receptions.

The Patriots' defense has struggled to defend the pass game this year, but slot cornerback Marcus Jones has played terrifically over the course of the season. This makes it important to get Robinson multiple looks early in the contest and keep New England’s defense off balance.
