John Harbaugh Given Strong Letter Grade For Beginning of Giants Tenure

The New York Giants made one of the bigger moves of the offseason by hiring veteran head coach John Harbaugh to take over their team.

After parting ways with the Baltimore Ravens, Harbaugh was determined to find a strong landing spot for the 2026 season. New York coveted him, and Harbaugh was intrigued by what the Giants could offer.

Having a coach like Harbaugh, who has won a Super Bowl title, immediately gave the Giants some credibility across the NFL landscape. Harbaugh has seen all sorts of success during his NFL career, and the Giants desperately needed a true leader at the head coaching position.

Through the first four weeks with the Giants, Harbaugh has helped New York jump out to a 3-1 record. Despite the team losing its starting quarterback, in Jaxson Dart, New York has been able to withstand the injury.

Due to the success that Harbaugh has seen through the first few weeks of the season in New York, he has been given a letter grade of "A" from NFL analyst Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report. Gagnon looked at all the new head coaches from around the league, grading them on their performance so far.

There is still a long way to go for the Giants to get back to the playoffs, but it has been a solid start. Harbaugh's fingerprints are all over this franchise, and he has brought some stability back to the team.

Harbaugh has helped this team guide through losing Dart, while giving backup Jameis Winston the opportunity to lead the group. The veteran coach has looked the part so far, and the Giants have to be happy with how things have turned out.

While Winston's time with the Giants is still a work in progress, Harbaugh has helped this group become more physical around the edges of the roster. Harbaugh understands that in order to win football games in the NFL, physicality is crucial, and the Giants have been lacking this in recent years.

The veteran coach came to the Giants to compete for Super Bowl titles, looking to bring the franchise back to relevance in the league. So far, he has made this team look like a potential contender, even with Winston at quarterback.

The NFC East is a little weaker than expected this season, and it could see the Giants make a play for the division crown. Harbaugh will be tasked with helping this team the way of the way, teaching them how to win at this level.
