Tony Pollard Would Be Solid NFL Trade Deadline Addition For Giants

The Giants have been looking at adding more help in the backfield.

The New York Giants are sitting with a record of 4-2-1 on the season, sitting in first place of the NFC East.

Despite the team dealing with multiple brutal injuries this season, New York has been able to stay the course, with the groups' sight set on the playoffs. But for the Giants to get into the postseason, this team could use a little more firepower around the roster.

With the NFL trade deadline approaching next week, the Giants are expected to be one of the more active teams. New York has already tried to make a deal for more defensive help, and the team could still look into this.

But the Giants have also been linked to multiple running backs on the trade market as well, giving more boost to the offense. New York has been connected to star back Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts, but a trade for him remains unknown.

With a trade of Taylor likely to cost too much, New York should be pivoting over to try to land running back Tony Pollard of the Tennessee Titans. Pollard has been another name on the market that could be moved, and he may fit this team very well.

Over the last two weeks, Pollard has been one of the best backs in the entire league, with him putting up over 100 yards each game. For the season, Pollard has rushed for 595 yards and six scores on the ground.

But Pollard also helps out through the passing game, with the star caught 14 passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns. Pollard has become a focal point in the Titans offense, and the team could try to land a haul for him.

New York could be one of those teams that looks to go after Pollard, adding more depth to the backfield. With how poorly Cam Skattebo has handled being the main starter, and Tyrone Tracy being hurt, the Giants need more help at running back.

Skattebo hasn't been awful for the team, but his lack of ball security at times has cost the Giants. But mixing his power running with the speed and patience of Pollard could help the Giants become a well-balanced running team.

It remains unknown how the Giants will approach the trade deadline next week, but this team does want to get into the playoffs. And going after an update at running back could be one way for them to make it happen.
