The Green Bay Packers' explosive pair of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden just matched a feat unseen since the Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson era, combining elite speed and precision to transform the offense into an unstoppable aerial juggernaut.
There have been several potent one-two punches at wide receiver over the past decade of NFL play, and the Green Bay Packers may have built the latest and greatest duo.
We're talking about Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. We're certainly talking about Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
A dynamic 1A and 1B at wide receiver can make an offense borderline unstoppable, and it's about time that Green Bay's duo of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden enter that conversation.
The "vision" for what Watson and Golden can do together was on full display in the Packers' 31-7 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 5.
Watson led the way with six catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns, averaging an impressive 23.8 yards per catch.
Golden wasn't all that far behind him, though. He's clearly comfortable now that he's in his second NFL season and for everything that Watson can do as a deep-threat, the Packers' No. 23 overall pick from the 2025 NFL Draft is just as dynamic.
He caught six catches of his own against the Bears, turning those grabs into 123 yards. Golden averaged 20.5 yards per catch.
Watson has been a premier deep threat when healthy, and he's finally proving to be healthy on a game-in, game-out basis for the Packers.
Guys who check in at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds and can run a 4.28 40 don't just grow on trees, and Watson's elite athleticism and skillset lead to moments like this.

He has "possession receiver" hands with a deep-threat receiver's mindset, and that skill set leads to moments like this.
You just can't teach that kind of playmaking, and the Packers have two players in Watson and Golden who can do it.
If you try to take away one, quarterback Jordan Love will simply heave it to the other. This was the first time the Packers had a receiving duo go over 120 yards in the same game in 10 years.
The last 1A and 1B to do it? That was Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson catching passes from Aaron Rodgers.
If those names hit you right in the nostalgic "feels", just open your eyes and tune into this Green Bay offense. As long as that offensive line can protect Love and give him even a modicum of time (and to be fair, that's a big "if"), he's going to keep airing it out to Watson and Golden — arguably the best 1A and 1B at receiver in football right now.
