Here are three of the biggest X-Factors for the Packers to take down the Cowboys this week.
The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for a massive game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football this week.
Green Bay is coming off a big win over the Chicago Bears last week, with the team putting together a well-rounded effort. The Packers finally looked like the team that many expected them to be entering the year, and they will now look to build on the win this week.
Entering the game, the Packers are 3-2 on the season, while the Cowboys are 2-3, coming off a tough loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Here are three of the biggest X-Factors for the Packers to keep the winning ways going against the Cowboys:
1. Protect Jordan Love
One issue for the Packers this year has been the inconsistent play from the offensive line, failing to protect star quarterback Jordan Love. Despite this, Love has done what he can to help this team win games, but he can't do it all alone.
If the offensive line can keep up the strong play from the last few weeks, it would give Love the chance to throw the ball down the field; much like he did against the Bears. Love can sometimes hold the ball too long, but he has started to look better as the offensive line play has improved.
2. Secondary Holds Up Against Dallas Passing Attack
Despite the defensive concerns for the Cowboys, the offense has again been a strength for this team. The passing game has been key for this Dallas team, with quarterback Dak Prescott throwing the ball all around the field with star wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
So, for the Packers, the secondary is going to have to hold up against this passing attack, trying to limit what Prescott can do in this game. Green Bay's interior defensive line will be key in this, helping the secondary by pressuring Prescott early and often throughout the contest.
3. Get the Running Game Going
With Josh Jacobs still out, the Packers have seen a lot of problems in the running game and it has caused all sorts of issues for this team. But the Packers did score two rushing touchdowns last week against the Bears, with running back MarShawn Lloyd scoring both.
The running attack didn't explode against the Bears, but it showed some signs of life, and the Packers can take this to build on. Against the Cowboys, whose defense has been shaky, Green Bay should try to exploit the unit by getting the ground game going.
