Clemson's Avieon Terrell offers playmaking prowess. A hamstring injury could make this shutdown corner a steal for the Green Bay Packers.

It may feel a bit too early to start thinking about the 2026 NFL Draft, but mock draft season will be upon us before you know it. In fact, for many fans, mock draft season started the minute the Green Bay Packers' 2025 season ended.

A lot is going to happen between now and April 23rd, when the draft kicks off in Pittsburgh. Right now, the Packers don't have a first-round pick, and they'll start their selections with pick No. 52, which is in the second round.

Not having a first-rounder in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts was part of the price the Packers paid for getting Micah Parsons. They gave a lot to get a lot back in return, and that's just part of the reality general manager Brian Gutekunst will have to work with unless he's able to swing another trade and somehow get back into the first round.

So who should the Packers target in Round 2 and beyond? There are going to be a ton of names thrown around and many of them will be great picks.

The Packers' needs at cornerback have been discussed ad nauseam, whether here on PackersRoundtable or elsewhere on the internet. It's a real thing. You can't go into this 2026 season with real Super Bowl aspirations while having Keisean Nixon as CB1 and Carrington Valentine as CB2.

The Packers need a legitimate starter at corner, and very well could find that player in Clemson Tigers cornerback Avieon Terrell if he's available at pick No. 52.

Terrell is a playmaker, to put it lightly. In three years at Clemson, he notched 125 tackles (90 solo), nine tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and three interceptions.

He's been a projected first-round pick, but unfortunately for him, he pulled his hamstring while running during his pro day. That caused him to run a slow, 4.64-second 40-yard-dash.

"It's hard to ask him to cover one-on-one on the outside with that time," an AFC scout told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "It's an issue. I wish it wasn't but it is. I think some teams will consider him more inside as a result."

That's going to cause him to fall in this draft, and there is a possibility that he'll be available when the Packers are up at No. 52. Perhaps they could even move up a little bit to get him if they feel he won't be.

If they can get him, he'll be a steal for the Packers on Day 2.

Notably, another personnel evaluator told Fowler that he's "fast enough" in and out of his breaks on the field. He's also the brother of A.J. Terrell Jr. of the Atlanta Falcons, who is one of the best cornerbacks in the league.

"Terrell is dealing with a hamstring injury at the moment, but he is a consistent man-to-man corner with plenty of speed," wrote ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. in his recent mock, which projects the Packers selecting Terrell. "He makes plays on the ball, and he had eight forced fumbles over the past two seasons, including five in 2025. He could potentially start for the Packers in Year 1."

Terrell would absolutely be worth the shot for the Packers in Round 2.
