Costly turnovers and persistent penalties nearly derailed the Green Bay Packers' narrow victory.

Green Bay Packers fans know they're able to celebrate a 17-14 win, but the now 0-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers nearly overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit.

This was a 10-7 game at halftime, thanks to a late Buccaneers turnover that turned into a 58-yard Trey Smack field goal.

At the time, no one knew just how big those three points would be, but they turned out to be the reason why the Packers won this game.

Tampa Bay scored a touchdown just 11 seconds into the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 17-14, and neither team would score the rest of the way, despite a late fumble and interception from the Packers.

Kaleb Johnson almost fumbled the game away

When Chris Brooks exited the game, head coach Matt LaFleur had no choice but to give Johnson RB2 duties behind MarShawn Lloyd.

Lloyd was far from perfect either, but he had a highlight reel hurdle that will be played for weeks to come.

Anyways, Johnson got the ball at the three-yard line, but fumbled and the Buccaneers took over. With a chance to put the game away, the Packers were stuck wondering if their defense could respond and keep them alive.

A near-safety resulted in great field position for Green Bay, but it once again went nowhere.

Jordan Love's crucial interception

Love came into this game with an extremely low completion percentage, mostly due to the fact that he had no trust in his offensive line.

Thankfully, he wasn't sacked once at Raymond James Stadium. This revamped unit is still far from perfect, but they got the job done in Week 4 and protected Love.

Sadly, Love wasn't able to protect the football as Jacob Parrish jumped his route to Matthew Golden.

It was far from the worst interception of his career, and once again, this defense bailed him out, but it couldn't have come at a worse time.

Packers had 10 penalties for 68 yards

There were four occasions where the Packers found themselves in a first-and-20 situation, and that simply can't happen.

LaFleur knows these mistakes need to be fixed, but this team still hasn't found a solution to stop getting in their own way.

For reference, the Bucs only had four penalties for 17 yards. Green Bay will likely continue to lead the league in penalty yards through four games, and that's something that must change if they want this 2-2 start to be taken seriously.
