Following a sloppy victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Green Bay Packers' head coach threatened to bench players who fumble the football.

The Green Bay Packers turned the ball over twice in the fourth quarter, nearly leading to another 10-point lead vanishing in the final 15 minutes against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Thankfully, new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon was able to have this defense expose undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels.

Obviously, the Packers know they aren't going to get to face a guy like Daniels every week.

Here in Week 5, the Chicago Bears already announced who their starting QB is going to be, so the defense has plenty of time to prepare.

Offensively, this team looked pretty good but somehow still only managed to win by three points.

A pair of promising fourth-quarter drives ended due to a fumble and interception, and in no way is head coach Matt LaFleur considering benching Jordan Love after the pick, but the fumble brought an interesting answer out of the controversial coach.

LaFleur was less than pleased with Kaleb Johnson

When asked about Kaleb Johnson's fumble at the three-yard line, LaFleur didn't hold back, "I think a great teacher is the bench," he said, according to WFRV's Kyle Malzhan.

MLF continued, "So, if guys don't start holding onto the ball, they're going to be sitting on the bench."

Now, the question is, does this apply to receivers who drop the ball as well?

Bo Melton had a huge drop early in the game, Tucker Kraft's hands were far from perfect, and even Matthew Golden dropped one of Love's passes on Sunday, Oct. 4.

LaFleur has every right to put Johnson in his place as that's the team's supposed RB3, but he saw an increased workload when Chris Brooks went down with an injury.

Moving forward, it seems like it'll continue to be the MarShawn Lloyd show, though the third-year running back also nearly coughed up a fumble in Buccaneers territory; he's just lucky the ball went out of bounds before the defense could get to it.

Packers are running out of options

The status of Brooks heading into Week 5 will be quite telling as both Lloyd and Johnson fumbled at Raymond James Stadium; it just came down to Johnson's being the only one that was recovered by the defense.

This Packers team isn't going to be able to win ugly the rest of the year, so it's extremely crucial that these mistakes are limited throughout the next few weeks. A 2-2 start is fine with how things are playing out in the NFC, but all it'll take is a few more major mistakes to derail the entire season.
