Jagar Burton’s groin injury adds to Green Bay's growing list of sidelined starters, threatening Jordan Love’s protection as Matt LaFleur fights to avoid another primetime collapse.
As of Thursday, Oct. 1, the Green Bay Packers officially have eight players on the injury report.
This is far fewer than that of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but obviously, this doesn't include the likes of Zach Bako-Bewele or Jayden Reed, who have been ruled out for the year.
Seven players were on the initial injury report, only for center/offensive guard Jager Burton to join the mix as the calendar flipped to October.
Burton is the eighth player listed, with exactly four being listed as limited participants while the other four did not practice.
Burton joins the injury report
This team may have just signed three offensive linemen, but that doesn't mean they have room to lose another.
With Jordan Love's protection in shambles, the last thing head coach Matt LaFleur can afford to have happen is a repeat of this team's Thursday Night Football meltdown against the Atlanta Falcons.
Officially, Burton was listed as a limited participant due to a groin injury, so that'll be something to monitor leading up to game day.
Who didn't practice?
Four players were listed as DNP on the Oct. 1 injury report, and those include: OG Aaron Banks, defensive tackle Warren Brinson, DT Anthony Campbell, and OG Jacob Monk.
Monk, similarly to Burton, is listed as both a guard and center.
Keep an eye on Brinson and Brooks
These two players are worth keeping an eye on as they showed either a promising update or have started trending in the wrong direction.
In the case of Brinson, he's dealing with calf and groin injuries, and while he was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday, Sept. 30, that turned into a DNP designation the very next day.
When it comes to Brooks, the results are the opposite. The team announced he's been dealing with an illness, and while he didn't practice on the initial injury report, he's since moved up to be a limited participant.
Every limited participant revealed
Other than Brooks and Burton, the other limited participants include linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and EDGE Lukas Van Ness.
This Packers defense cannot afford to be down both Cooper and Van Ness, so they're hoping these limited participants are just to help get them as ready as possible for Sunday, Oct. 4.
Officially, it's a shoulder injury and concussion listing for Cooper, while Van Ness is dealing with a shoulder injury of his own.
