Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst is in attendance for two major matchups in college football.

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst is already scouting for the 2027 NFL Draft, as he attended the Texas Longhorns game against Texas State. Gutekunst will also attend the LSU Tigers game against the Clemson Tigers later on Saturday.

The Packers don't own their first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, as it was included in the deal to acquire superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys prior to the 2025 season.

However, with the talent on the rosters of Texas, LSU, and Clemson, Gutekunst could gain some valuable intel into players they could target in the second round and beyond of the draft.

Green Bay has developed some quality players through the later rounds of the draft in recent years, including safety Evan Williams, who was a fourth-round pick in 2024.

Williams has become a star, recording 100 total tackles, four tackles for loss, five pass deflections, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery in the 2025 season. He has emerged as one of the best safeties in the league and is poised for a great third year.

A steal that the Packers drafted on offense is tight end Tucker Kraft. Kraft was a third-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft and has developed into one of the best players at his position.

In his rookie campaign, he had 31 receptions for 355 yards and two touchdowns. Kraft then had a breakout year in 2024, finishing with 50 receptions for 707 yards and seven touchdowns.

He was off to an even better start in 2025, with 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns through eight games before he suffered a torn ACL. With Kraft back healthy, he will be a key piece in Green Bay's offense.

Gutekunst and the Packers' front office have a strong track record of hitting on mid-to-late-round draft picks, which will help them add talented pieces despite not having a first-round pick.

With Gutekunst already scouting, don't be surprised to see a player from Texas, LSU, or Clemson in the Green and Gold next season.
