As the Green Bay Packers struggle to stay afloat, a slow rehab timeline for the star defender forces Jonathan Gannon’s unit to survive.

While he hasn't had any setbacks in his rehab, Ringer's Tom Pelissero recently revealed that Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons isn't expected back anytime soon.

Green Bay knew what they were doing by placing him on the PUP list, so that ruled him out for at least the team's first four games.

Getting him back in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears was always a lofty goal, and it's one most realistic thinkers knew wasn't possible.

Obviously, the big target in mind was then Week 6 on Oct. 18 when the Dallas Cowboys come to town for Sunday Night Football.

According to Pelissero, it "could be" November before he's ready for "game action."

Parsons may not return until Week 9

In no world were the Packers supposed to be 1-2 at this point in the season, but here we are. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers await on Sunday, Oct. 4, and that's an 0-3 team with an undrafted rookie playing quarterback, so falling to 1-3 would be unfathomable for this Packers team.

All the Packers need to do is be in a good enough spot when Parsons returns. Remember, this team was 9-3-1 a year ago before he went down in the Denver Broncos game.

They snapped a six game losing streak by taking down the New York Jets in overtime, only to drop their home opener in embarrassing fashion to the Atlanta Falcons.

If Pelissero's report is indeed correct and November is the first time Parsons plays in a game, that would line up to be the team's Week 9 matchup at the New England Patriots.

Then, the Packers return to Lambeau Field for a rematch against the Minnesota Vikings before enjoying a bye in Week 11.

Parsons would be available for nine games (at worst)

Not having any setbacks in rehab is a great sign, so now it's up for this training staff to get him up to speed as soon as possible while also making sure he's fully healthy.

Green Bay saw what happened to this defense when Parsons got hurt, and now it's up to former Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon to give the Packers a shot at a Super Bowl with this unit.

Parsons' return will be one of the most talked-about storylines of the year if he can help guide the Packers to the playoffs in 2026.

If Green Bay only has two or three wins once he's back, it'll be an afterthought. From here until November, the Packers need to stack together wins so Parsons can help the dream of a Super Bowl once again become a reality.
