Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons will miss the start of the 2026 season.
The Green Bay Packers have been predicted to miss the playoffs this season by NFL analyst Moe Moton of Bleacher Report.
Moton thinks the Packers will go 9-8 in 2026 since Micah Parsons will miss the start of the season.
"The Packers could have a slow start to the season without Micah Parsons, who's recovering from a torn ACL and damage to his meniscus," Moton wrote. "Between Weeks 5 and 7, Green Bay will face the Bears, Dallas Cowboys and Lions, three teams that finished within the top 10 in scoring last year. Even if Parsons is back on the field in early October, he may not take on a full workload for a few games. Green Bay has a suspect cornerback group that needs Parsons' pass rush to neutralize aerial attacks. A rocky start will cost the Packers a playoff spot."
The Packers went 0-4 to finish the 2025 season and lost to the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round of the playoffs despite having a 21-6 lead.
Parsons tore his ACL against the Denver Broncos in Week 15. Green Bay didn't win a game after that. It's currently unknown when Parsons will be cleared to play. He underwent ACL surgery and underwent a meniscus procedure. Surgery took place on December 29. A nine-month recovery timeline means we should not expect to see Parsons on the field before September 29.
Parsons told reporters on Tuesday (8/4) that he may play against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.
"I think it's very realistic," Parsons said. "I wouldn't say it's not possible, but at the same time, in these next 10 weeks -- 10, 12 weeks from now on -- we've got to do our part to make it possible. It's not off the board, but we've got to put the work in."
The Packers open the 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings. It's time for QB Jordan Love to play like an MVP. Love signed a four-year, $220 million contract with Green Bay in 2024. It's time for him to play like a superstar and live up to that monster contract.
Love enters this season with 11,535 passing yards and 83 passing touchdowns. He's 27-20-1 as a starter.
If the Packers do miss the playoffs this season, we could see some major changes in Green Bay next offseason.
