Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Jayden Reed has reportedly made his return to practice on Friday afternoon.

As the Green Bay Packers continue to fight their way through multiple injuries throughout the 2025 NFL season, the franchise may be close to seeing one of the stars on offense back on the field.

Packers’ beat writer Matt Schneidman reported on Friday afternoon that wide receiver Jayden Reed was spotted practicing for the first time since Week Two.

Reed, who was selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, has become a key playmaker on offense since joining the organization. In his first two seasons with Green Bay, the highly-touted receiver recorded 1,650 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. His efforts during the stretch made him the clear-cut wide receiver one for the Packers and a vital piece to quarterback Jordan Love’s success.

However, this would take a huge turn for the worse this season, as Reed would suffer an injury in the team’s Week Two battle against the Washington Commanders. He was quickly added to the injury reserve and missed the next eight games.

While fans have patiently waited for the young talent’s return, it’s clear that the coaching staff continues to be cautious of his injuries. Head coach Matt LaFleur addressed his status to reporters on Thursday, claiming that he does not want to “speak in absolutes” in regards to his return.

“Yeah, I don’t ever want to speak in absolutes because certainly there [are] circumstances that [he could return to practice], but I would say generally speaking, you would open [the 21-day] window early in the week so we get the full benefit, even if it’s just to be able to participate in walk-through things where it’s all mental,” LaFleur stated. “But, typically, I would say that’s how we operate.”

With Reed’s window to return now open, this becomes a perfect opportunity for the Packers to receive one of the main contributors on offense. During his absence from the field, Green Bay’s passing attack has relied on wideouts Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson.

Once he returns, the passing game should look more fluent under Love, who is also missing star tight end Tucker Kraft after suffering a knee injury against the Carolina Panthers.
