The offense should be good again, with quarterback Jordan Love leading the charge. But the defense is the calling card for Green Bay, with the unit expected to be near the top of the league.
But like any team, there are always areas to improve. With injuries always being present, organizations like the Packers need to make sure that they have enough depth to make it through the long year.
One name that could completely transform the Packers' defense is veteran cornerback Kenny Moore II. Moore tried to work out a trade with the Indianapolis Colts earlier this season, but he ended up being released.
Somehow, he hasn't been signed yet, with the new year starting very soon. But NFL analyst Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has linked the Packers with Moore ahead of the season.
Moore could provide some extra depth for the Packers in the secondary, giving them even more firepower. The Green Bay defense is already expected to be very strong, but Moore could add an extra layer to everything.
Last season, the Packers were one of the best teams at getting to the quarterback, but the secondary was at times a weakness. However, Moore has been one of the better nickel cornerbacks in the league over his career, and he could address the problem.
Moore would provide versatility within the secondary for the Packers, while also being a productive piece to the defense. With the Colts last season, Moore started seven games, playing in 14, recording 55 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception, and two forced fumbles.
The veteran could be one of the stronger signings for the Packers, especially this late into the offseason. While it may take him a second to get fully integrated into the system, Moore could be the missing piece to this defense.
And with star Micah Parsons expected to return a few weeks into the season, Green Bay could be a powerful team all around. Overall, adding Moore does make a lot of sense for the Packers, and there aren't many negatives to bringing him into the mix for a Super Bowl run.
