The Packers kick off their 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 13, from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Talk about pressure. The Vikings are certainly in a transitional place as a franchise, but getting going against an NFC North foe ratchets up the intensity of this season from the get-go.
It's a big season for the Packers. There's a belief that they're in a Super Bowl window right now, which means every single game is important. That means the intensity will be there in Week 2 at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets and it will certainly be there in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, when the Packers will play at Lambeau Field for the first time in 2026.
There's going to be a lot of proverbial ink spilled on this 2026 season and we here at PackersRoundtable hope that you spend as much time as possible with us talking about the ins and outs and ups and downs of the Packers.
As we prepare for the 2026 season, though, we're going to kick things off with a rankings series looking at the Top 50 Packers heading into the 2025 season.

Dan Powers/USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin.One has to wonder if Bo Melton has fallen into the old trap of being okay at a bunch of things but not great at one thing. He's firmly in the "jack of all trades but master of none" category with the Packers.
Melton was a receiver at Rutgers and was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks as a receiver. He was a practice quad player for the Seahawks in 2022 and the Packers picked him up to be a depth player on the active roster at the end of that season.
Melton was again a practice squad player in 2023, but now with the Packers. He was elevated to the active roster for Weeks 16 and 17, and he caught six passes for 105 yards and a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings -- which was his breakout performance.
In Green Bay's playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round, Melton caught a 19-yard touchdown reception.
Melton has been a nice back-end roster player for the Packers, and the staff clearly trusts him. He's also a well-above-average athlete and has great speed. That was evidenced by the Packers' decision to convert him to cornerback ahead of the 2025 season.
He's now back at wide receiver.
2025 Synopsis:
Melton played exactly zero snaps on defense in 2025, so his transition to corner never really worked out. You know the coaching staff loves him for trying, though, and head coach Matt LaFleur did get Melton some snaps on offense, where his speed is an assett.
Melton caught four passes for 107 yards and a touchdown, averaging 26.8 yards per catch. He caught a 45-yard touchdown pass in Green Bay's win against the Chicago Bears in 2025.

Projected role in 2026:
Melton is basically a lock to make the team in 2026 despite multiple players being ahead of him on the wide receiver depth chart. He's simply a valuable chess piece for LaFleur and the Packers. Expect him to have one or two deep routes specifically drawn up for him per game and he'll absolutely be an impact player on special teams because of his speed.
