Way-Too-Early Green Bay Packers vs. New England Patriots Predictions
Nov 2, 2026 2:29 PM

Jordan Love faces a relentless New England pass rush in Foxborough as two 5-3 squads battle for dominance.

A pair of 5-3 teams are set to do battle in Foxborough as the New England Patriots host the Green Bay Packers.

This is the second-to-last game before Matt LaFleur's squad is able to enjoy a week off.

Green Bay's bye is coming in Week 11, and after that, they expect to get Micah Parsons back for a Thanksgiving Eve showdown against the Los Angeles Rams.

GB must take things one week at a time, though, as there's a very real possibility they could enter that game 5-5 knowing they must deal with the Patriots and Minnesota Vikings in back-to-back weeks.

New England is coming off a five-point victory over the Miami Dolphins. This was a much-needed rebound win for Drake Maye and Co. after they were defeated by the Chicago Bears 30-24 the week prior.

Here in Week 9, each team is looking to improve to three games above .500, and the Packers are looking to hand the Patriots their first home loss of the year.

Patriots defense puts on a show

While this isn't great news for Jordan Love, the Patriots just recorded five sacks in Miami. Their defensive front is great and is one of the main reasons why they've had so much success this season.

New England is going to be foaming at the mouth knowing they get to face the Packers' offensive line, one that hasn't protected Love well at all this season.

This is a team with 22 sacks on the year, and while Love has only been sacked 14 times himself, he could be in for a rude awakening with the likes of Elijah Ponder, Christian Barmore, and Gabe Jacas.

That said, Jacas is a name to monitor as he left the Dolphins game with a knee injury.

This game comes down to the final possession

It doesn't matter if the Packers are up 20 points at the half or trailing by 10 points in the fourth quarter; each and every week, these games come down to the final whistle.

Green Bay escaped a near-disastrous loss against the New York Jets when they were down 17-7 in the final 11 minutes, but they also blew a 22-10 lead in Week 1, when they allowed the Vikings to score 29 unanswered points.

When looking at the Patriots, this is a team that thrives at playing at home. The Patriots will open as the favorites, and rightfully so, but they're vulnerable, as they lost to the Bears and just sneaked past the Jets and Dolphins these past three weeks.

The Packers' last three games have all been decided by 10 points or fewer, while the Patriots have been decided by a touchdown or less.
