Matt LaFleur is unlocking a new dimension in Green Bay by utilizing Savion Williams.

When talking about hidden gems, look no further than Savion Williams.

The Green Bay Packers were thrilled to get him back on Sunday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, and head coach Matt LaFleur sure wasted no time giving him a few designed touches.

The 24-year-old last recorded a reception on Nov. 16, 2025, but he had a trio of carries in what would be his final two games of the regular season.

Williams was drafted No. 87 overall by the Packers in 2025, and they've been dying to see him reach his full potential.

Remember, this is a team that waited a year before Matthew Golden blossomed into a superstar, so there's no reason why Williams can't be a key weapon for this Packers offense moving forward.

Williams brings this Packers offense together

If Jordan Love wants to target Golden and Christian Watson 10 times a game and have it be effective, Green Bay needs other core receivers such as Williams.

Tight end Tucker Kraft has gotten off to an uncharacteristic slow start, but this team is 4-2, and that's all that matters.

Williams ended the Cowboys game with a pair of carries for nine yards, and he caught all four of his targets for 32 yards.

His longest reception of the night was 15 yards, so it's nowhere near Love's season-long 81-yard, but no one is asking him to be that guy in this offense.

If Williams continues to do his job, that's going to make the lives of Love, Golden, and Watson much easier.

Williams, at least in this stage of his career, doesn't ever seem to be in that upper echelon of receivers, but that's okay.

This offense is about to get Josh Jacobs back, but that only furthers the need for Williams in the quick-passing/run-game.

LaFleur loves to draw up jet sweeps or anything that even resembles a horizontal run for the TCU graduate.

Williams had nearly 400 rushing yards at college for a reason, and he's now going to unlock a whole new element of the Packers playbook.

Arguably no one is a bigger fan of Williams than LaFleur, and that should be a huge boost of confidence for the second-year receiver.

No one is asking Williams to be a 1,000-yard receiver, far from it, but the Cowboys game made it abundantly clear just how much more is available to this offense with him involved.
