The Carolina Panthers have released their injury report ahead of the Week 4 showdown with the Detroit Lions.

The Carolina Panthers are looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3. After holding a lead late in the game, Carolina let Cleveland rally and ended up losing a tight game. That sent the Panthers to 1-2 on the season.

And the test gets tougher this week.

The Panthers are set to host the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football this week. It marks the first time the Panthers have hosted Sunday Night Football in 10 years, and the excitement is high for this NFC showdown. This is a good chance for the Panthers to earn a statement win against a good NFC team.

It's also a game that could have playoff seeding implications later on in the season.

For Carolina, not only did they lose the Week 3 road game, but they also suffered some major injuries in the process. Starting defensive backs Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson were placed on Injured Reserve this week. And the news didn't get much better.

On Friday, the Panthers released the injury report for Sunday's game, and they have ruled out two starters on offense. Both wide receiver Xavier Legette and left guard Damien Lewis have been ruled out.

Legette didn't play in Week 3 as he's dealing with a knee issue. Lewis suffered a UCL injury in Week 3 and will not play this week. It's a tough hit to the Panthers' offensive line to lose Lewis, as they are going to look to protect quarterback Bryce Young against a good Lions' pass rush.

Carolina Panthers full injury report

The Panthers have a lengthy injury report this week as they prepare to host Detroit. Below is the full report they released on Friday.

  • WR Jalen Coker - Questionable (quad)
  • OT Monroe Freeling - Questionable (concussion)
  • DT Lee Hunter - Questionable (foot)
  • DT Cam Jackson - Questionable (knee)
  • WR Xavier Legette - OUT (knee)
  • G Damien Lewis - OUT (elbow)

The good news is that safety Nick Scott, linebacker Devin Lloyd, tight end Darren Waller, linebacker Princely Umanmielen, quarterback Bryce Young, and running back Chuba Hubbard are all good to go with no designation.

The one to watch on the injury report is Coker who is dealing with a quad injury. Carolina will be missing Legette already and they cant afford to have another injury at the wide receiver position moving forward.

Carolina and Detroit will kick off on Sunday night with the game broadcast on NBC.
