Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales admits that quarterback Bryce Young is being hampered by his injury.

The Carolina Panthers' trip to Green Bay didn't end in a win. Instead, they found themselves playing from behind in the second quarter and after some adjustments from the Packers, it felt like they were never really in it the rest of the way.

As Carolina cut the lead to just one score late in the game, the offense stalled on back-to-back drives, ending with a fourth-down incompletion and then a last-second play filled with a few laterals that eventually ended it.

Quarterback Bryce Young was under duress all game long, feeling the pressure from Green Bay's defense. Green Bay not only applied pressure with the front four but they were able to send the blitz and make Young uncomfortable throughout the game. Young didn't have much time and the game plan from Jonathan Gannon was perfect.

But Young was also hindered by his knee injury that he's been dealing with for a few weeks now.

After Thursday's game, Dave Canales admitted that he thinks Young's mobility is being hindered due to his knee injury. Now, Canales didn't seem too concerned in terms of a long term injury but he did note that Young didn't have the “quick, make you miss” type skill that we have seen from the quarterback at times in his career. That will make a difference.

With Green Bay sending blitzes, the best way to beat that is quick throws or escaping the pocket and picking up yards with your feet. Young struggled in those areas for most of the game and we can see way.

As for Young dealing with the injury himself, he didn't want to get too much into it but did say that there are no excuses as everyone is dealing with something at this stage of the season with injuries.

We've seen at times this season how effective Young can be in terms of the pass game and at one point he was an MVP candidate. But over the last two games his play has struggled.

The next test for the Panthers doesn't get much easier, either. In Week 9, they will host the Denver Broncos in another big game. Denver has one of the top defenses in the NFL and can really get after the quarterback.

For Canales and his team, they are going to have to dig deep and find a way to earn a victory while keeping their quarterback upright.
