The Carolina Panthers got another win over the weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Carolina Panthers were able to take down the Philadelphia Eagles over the weekend, earning their third win of the season.
Coming off a bye, the Panthers were rested and well-prepared for the Eagles, who were severely undermanned in the game. The Eagles' defense helped keep the game close at the beginning, but in the end, Carolina was able to pull away.
The Panthers now sit with a record of 3-2 on the season, sitting in first place in the NFC South. Carolina is looking to repeat as champions of the division after getting to the playoffs last season.
In a new edition of NFL power rankings from Bleacher Report, the Panthers came in ranked at No. 11, sitting just outside the top ten. Carolina moved up a few spots, with the team being ranked at No. 13 last week.
The Panthers still have a lot of work to do the rest of the way, but this team is feeling good about where they are six weeks into the year. Carolina's offense has started to grow more confidence each week, being led by star quarterback Bryce Young.
After a few shaky season sin the NFL to begin his career, Young has looked like a franchise option for Carolina this year. Young has thrown for 1,549 yards with 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions through five games.
His play has earned him some MVP buzz this year, which has been great to see for the Panthers. Young has checked off a lot of boxes that were big questions about his game entering this season.
While the offense has been a major strength for the Panthers, the defense has continued to be a work in progress for this team. Carolina's defense did play better against the Eagles, but Philadelphia was missing multiple star players on offense.
The Panthers have been without its two starting cornerbacks, Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, due to injuries, leading to some defensive problems. But overall, the Panthers have been slowly building, and it seems that this team could look to make another playoff push this year.
Next up for the Panthers is a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, giving this team an opportunity to stack wins. Tampa Bay will be coming in with a record of 1-5, but for Carolina to take care of business, they can't overlook the Buccaneers.
Kickoff will take place at 10:00 a.m. PT/1:00 p.m. ET from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
