Despite a perfect start and a botched spring deal with Baltimore, speculation persists that Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby could be on the move at the trade deadline.
The Las Vegas Raiders are 3-0 entering a massive showdown against the also-undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.
Kirk Cousins has done good enough as the starting quarterback, and the decision to hire Klint Kubiak as the head coach has already paid big dividends as Las Vegas has matched its win total from one year ago.
Right now, although the trade deadline is a month away, the Raiders could be buying.
Still, ESPN's Dan Graziano named 10 players who could be moved, and he ha Maxx Crosby on the list.
Is it surprising? Yes, considering the Raiders' 3-0 start.
Crosby wanted out, and the Raiders traded him to the Baltimore Ravens for a pair of first-round picks. Then, in one of the more stunning twists in recent memory, the Ravens backed out and ended up signing Trey Hendrickson to a massive contract.
Questions swirled all offseason about whether or not Crosby would be traded, but he seems to have renewed energy with a new staff.
Graziano said Crosby is on the list because he is a "huge name who has been on these lists for a year now."
Right now, is it likely that Las Vegas trades him?
"Even if they go 1-5 in their next six games, they'd be 4-5 at the deadline and would have no obvious need to throw in the towel. If they do better than that, they could be adding at a position such as wide receiver or defensive line," Graziano wrote.
Crosby has gotten off to a strong start, and the Raiders could likely get a nice return if they do trade him.
Crosby signed a 3-year, $106.5 million with Las Vegas before the 2025 season, so he has one more year remaining, and he finally is on a winning team.
It has only been three weeks, and if the Raiders lose a lot of games going into November, do they trade Crosby? That is a question for a few weeks from now.
Graziano ends the section by saying he doesn't think the Raiders move Crosby right now or this season.
"I don't think they will unless they get blown away by an offer the way they were by the Ravens' deal in the spring," he wrote.
The Los Angeles Chargers are 0-3, and nobody knows if Jim Harbaugh's team will figure it out.
With that said, could the Raiders actually make a playoff run? That is something Crosby has wanted for some time, and if so, he would be very happy after a weird offseason.
The trade deadline is November 10, so there should be some indication of what the Raiders do sometime over the next few weeks, depending on how the games go.
