Could Raiders' Matchup Vs. 49ers Dictate DE Maxx Crosby's Future?
Nov 6, 2026 2:00 AM

With a highly anticipated return to California's Bay Area, the Las Vegas Raiders have more at stake than just Week 9's matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Las Vegas Raiders finally got back in the win column after last Sunday's matchup against the New York Jets.

Vegas walked away victorious in a tight contest against NY, 38-33, but the narrow victory shouldn't take away from what they accomplished.

Coming back to Earth after their 3-0 start, the Raiders proceeded to drop four in a row until last Sunday's win, so Vegas should take what they can get -- even if they only won by a small margin against one of the AFC's worst teams.

Our hosts, Connor and Lucas look back at the win and what went right for the Silver and Black.

Entering the second half down 23-14, the Raiders hung in this game and fought back against the Jets, ultimately erasing the deficit in the fourth quarter and not looking back. Vegas' defense was able to slow down the Jets' offense, allowing only three points from late in the third quarter until the final whistle blew.

Las Vegas quarterback Kirk Cousins continues to fight against Father Time, going 19-26 for 247 yards and throwing three touchdowns with zero interceptions.

Running back Mike Washington Jr. looked great in the win as well, rushing for 83 yards off 25 carries.

Alternatively, RB Ashton Jeanty disappointed once again as he works through what is hopefully just a slump. The Sophomore had just two carries for nine yards, but on the bright side, Jeanty brought in three receptions for 64 yards.

Perhaps the brightest takeaway from Sunday's win was defensive end Maxx Crosby, who continues to show why he's one of the best in the NFL at the position.

Crosby had four total tackles, two solo, one sack and two hits on the QB and his stats don't necessarily reflect how dominant he was on defense.

The 29-year-old has also been in the headlines as one of Vegas' best trade chips, which has been a storyline ever since the botched trade to the Baltimore Ravens last season.

Vegas' stance on the trade deadline (buying, selling or staying put) is yet to be seen and their upcoming game against the San Francisco 49ers could dictate their future.

With a win, the Raiders should hit the trade market and bring in talent across the roster. With a loss, the Crosby rumors could come to fruition and Vegas could use him to build for the future -- possibly acquire weapons for QB Fernando Mendoza?

As for this Sunday's game, the Raiders are heading back to the Bay Area for what could be the start of yet another rivalry with San Francisco. The 49ers are one of the best teams in not just the NFC, but the NFL as a whole.

This will be a must-watch game, and a tough one for the Raiders as they're on the road.
