The Las Vegas Raiders have now dropped three straight, and concerns are growing about their star running back's production.
The Las Vegas Raiders may be coming back down to Earth.
After starting the season 3-0, Vegas dropped three straight to the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots and now the Buffalo Bills.
On a positive note, though, the team took Buffalo down to the wire, losing by only three points, and the Bills are arguably the best team in the AFC.
Our hosts, Lucas and Connor, dive into the loss and break down the good/bad.
Lucas mentions that there is a growing concern about running back Ashton Jeanty and Connor doubles down, noting that his yards per carry this season is 2.45, an incredibly low number for a talented RB. There is a little bit of hope, however, as Jeanty is a bit banged up, which could be the reason for his struggles. The 22-year-old had just 22 yards on 10 carries last Sunday.
Connor discusses what went wrong for Vegas as a whole, mentioning how the Raiders had five trips to the red zone but only scored touchdowns on two, settling for field goal attempts on the remaining three. Had the Raiders found the end zone more than twice, the results of this game could have been very different.
Looking at this losing streak, Connor admits that the Raiders did have three straight games against some of the league's best. With that in mind, the team got blown out against New England but kept the Chiefs and Bills games close -- which should minimize some of the criticism that Vegas is receiving.
Looking ahead to Sunday's game, the Raiders are hoping to get back in the win column against the Los Angeles Rams. Despite being a heavy-favorite Super Bowl contender ahead of the 2026-27 season, the Rams came out of the gate 2-4 and 3rd in the NFC West.
Los Angeles has dropped games to the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and most recently, the Arizona Cardinals -- so this game could go in Vegas' favor.
Star wide receiver Davante Adams is sidelined with a hamstring injury and is the latest to catch the injury bug on a beaten-up Rams roster, so the Raiders do have an opportunity to secure a win.
