A look at the keys to victory for the Los Angeles Rams to take down the Denver Broncos.
The Los Angeles Rams are set to face the Denver Broncos in what could be one of their biggest challenges of the 2026 season.
After a big stumble against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, the Rams bounce back against the New York Giants in Week 2. Now, they face the Broncos as they look to improve to 2-1 on the season.
Here are the four keys to victory for the Rams.
Keep Aaron Donald Involved
The Rams finally got to see defensive end Aaron Donald take the field again in Week 2, as the Giants had to constantly double- and triple-team the defender to keep him away from Jaxson Dart.
Donald still found ways to get in the backfield and cause chaos, and that is what Los Angeles will need to do to ensure Bo Nix can be stopped.
Donald admitted to being a bit sore after the game, but he must be able to take the field and draw more attention so that the other Rams pass rushers can get after Nix.
Spread Passing Game Around
The Broncos have one of the best secondary players in the game in Patrick Surtain II, who might be tasked with covering Davante Adams. If that is the case, Matthew Stafford will need to spread the ball around as he did in Week 2.
Getting Jordan Whittington, Konata Mumpfield, and the tight ends involved will take away Denver's ability to lock down the passing game.
With Puka Nacua presumably out, the passing game took a hit, but Stafford will need to get everyone involved.
Limit Penalties
The Rams may have bounced back in Week 2, but the team committed six penalties for 50 penalty yards against the Giants. That cannot happen against the Broncos.
Pre-snap and post-snap penalties can stall drives and wipe away big gains. Los Angeles will need to ensure they play disciplined football, as Denver can capitalize on sloppy football and use it to turn it into a stop and points.
Keep the Run Game Going
Kyren Williams and Blake Corum picked up 165 yards on the ground, and they need to be relied on heavily again.
The Rams have found a way to utilize both in a way that they can complement one another very well.
Williams has a high-production skill set, while Corum has that explosive power where he can blow through the line to pick up chunk yardage. The Rams can also rely heavily on Williams in the passing game, so over-the-middle opportunities should be present.
