Former Pro Bowl wide receiver T. J. Houshmandzadeh believes Aaron Donald's return to the Los Angeles Rams is a 'done deal.'
Los Angeles Rams legend Aaron Donald had fans buzzing after a leaked video surfaced showing him at the team's practice facility.
The video, which was released by TMZ, was the biggest talking point of the weekend, with many now believing it's a matter of when, not if, Donald returns to the football field.
The rumors may soon become reality, and former Pro Bowl wide receiver T. J. Houshmandzadeh says that he thinks Donald's return has been done for quite some time.
The former 2001 NFL Draft pick said what Donald is trying to do now is get into football shape.
"When it was first announced that considering, I said, 'It’s a done deal.'
"He’s been retired. When you utter those words, 'Im considering,' it’s done.
"Now he’s in shape, but he’s not in football shape. He got to get his mind ready for what’s to come because he knows what that road is, he’s been down that road. It’s a done deal. If the Los Angeles Rams stay healthy, I don’t know who can compete with him," Houshmandzadeh said.
Houshmandzadeh went on to say that offenses will have a big problem on their hands with the potential superstar duo of Donald and Myles Garrett.
"Have we ever seen quite arguably the best defensive tackle to ever play and quite arguably the best defensive end to ever play on the same team. And if Aaron Donald is remotely close to what he was, this s*** is about to go bananas," Houshmandzadeh said.
The Rams acquired Garrett last month in a blockbuster trade that saw them send away Jared Verse and a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a conditional 2029 third-round pick.
It may have been a hefty price; however, the Rams are eager to win now and have built a team this offseason to ensure they get the job done in 2026.
If the Rams were to add Donald into the mix, they may be the toughest team to beat this season.
Donald is 35 years old and two years removed from the game.
However, the Rams wouldn't need him to be the player he once was. If he can be half of what he was, that may be enough for the defense to be a top-three unit, at worst.
Houshmandzadeh went on to say that Donald will return, adding that he expects big things from the Rams this upcoming season.
"I believe this is 100 percent going down. Aaron Donald, 99, now will be coming back to the Los Angeles Rams and if these dudes stay healthy, they go 15-2."
