Myles Garrett has been one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, and he broke down how he can impact the Los Angeles Rams defense.

The NFL world is still reeling from Myles Garrett joining the Los Angeles Rams, and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year has been involved in plenty of media interviews since joining the team.

During an interview with the Rams, Garrett broke down many subjects, including how he plans to impact the defense. Despite having to change from a 4-3 to a 3-4 base defense, the stalwart defender broke down how he plans to fit into the defensive plan.

"Well, I pride myself on being able to play pretty much anywhere," Garrett said. "You know, it doesn't matter if I'm standing up. I I can I can move back and uh I'll play at the linebacker position. I did a little bit of that, you know, in the last game, but also standing up and being a spinner, rushing from the middle to the edge, you know, obviously . I'm I'm pretty successful have my hand in the dirt and it doesn't matter if you if you move me down to the three techniques."

It will be interesting to see how Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula plans to utilize Garrett. As the defender indicated, he could stand up and play more of a linebacker role in the 3-4 base, or as a spinner, a player who can move to multiple positions before rushing the passer.

Garrett has also played as a traditional hand in the dirty type of edge rusher, so it may not matter where he lines up.

The Rams also have Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Poona Ford, and Byron Young in their positions to help pull the offense so Garrett can get loose and do what he does best.

Garrett did joke that he doesn't "expect" to see any fewer double teams, which was the usual case for him when playing on the Cleveland Browns. Considering how teams would often ensure that he could not be as impactful.

Regardless of his double teams, Garrett managed to secure a record 23 sacks in 2025 and had a league-leading 24.6 pass rush win percentage.

Garrett now joins an already formidable defense that includes the aforementioned players, and a secondary that has Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson, and Quentin Lake, among many others.

The Rams have the makings of what could be the most dominant defense in the NFL, but it all his to gel together. Garrett spoke about what he can do as a player but time will tell just how Shula and the defensive coaches truly plan to utilize him.

One thing is certain, having a player like Garrett can completely change and evolve any defense, and especially for a Rams unit that already has multiple players who are playing at a high level.
